COST Action 860 SUSVAR - Sustainable low-input cereal production: required varietal characteristics and crop diversity.

This meeting in Velence, Hungary was focus on Varietal characteristics of cereals in different growing systems with special emphasis on below ground traits. Including a visit to the Agricultural Research Institute and Crop Breeding Station of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in Martonvasar.

Activity at this meeting:
(1) Chair discussion on G x E x Management
(2) Chair the working group (WG4) on Plant-plant interactions
(3) Present SAC (SRUC) work on cereal root systems
(4) Prepare for future EU grant proposals and publications from EU and Scottish Government funded research
(5) Participant in the SUSVAR Management Committee
