Description
"Rebuilding Macroeconomics is hosting their second Annual Conference titled “How can interdisciplinary research enhance the policy relevance of macroeconomics?” on 19th and 20th September 2019 at Bryce Hall, The Mound, Edinburgh.Rebuilding Macroeconomics is a research network, funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), with the long-term aim of transforming macroeconomics back into a policy relevant social science.
They support research which addresses the pathologies of the macroeconomic system. They consider that some of the most important challenges facing society are macroeconomic in nature, including instability, environmental sustainability and social fragmentation. These are inherently interdisciplinary issues and failure to see them as such will leave the deep issues unresolved, and perhaps add to the disconnect between research and the expectations of the public.
This conference is an opportunity to shape some of the research projects Rebuilding Macroeconomics is funding. These projects are at different stages of development, and so this is a real opportunity to contribute ideas to their research agenda and projects."
