Specific Weight in Barley - presented to the IBH Research & Innovation Workshop, October 2019

Activity: Talk, evidence or presentation typesInvited talk

Description

Summary.
Specific weight is determined by major components of packing efficiency and grain density. Both grain dimensions and density must be considered to optimise specific weight. Specific weight sub-components (grain composition) are associated with changes in grain density within bulks. Compositional changes (i.e. N% and B granules) describe ~50% of the variation in grain density.
