Description of deer movements data reported to ScotEID

These data are being accessed and summarised as part of a project dealing with the identification, registration and movement patterns of kept deer species in Scotland. The dataset comprises records for movements of consignments of deer - number of deer per consignment varies. The data include a unique identifier for each movement, a holding of origin, destination holding, departure date, arrival date, number of deer in the consignment, and the movement type, as denoted by an integer which corresponds to a predefined category of movement - e.g. movement to slaughter. The data cover the period 2020-2024, ongoing. The data are held within the EPIC data repository, to which access is controlled and subject to a DSA being in place.
