Personal profile

Research interests

I am chartered town planner, and have worked across practice and academia for 20 years.  My work focuses on making connections between practice and research, to create better outcomes in the way we own and use land. Since 2020 I've specialised in community landownership and land reform, delivering an action research project on community landownership for the Scottish Government and third sector.

I have led land development projects and policies for public bodies, private landowners and community organisations,  and conducted research to deliver better development. My main areas of research interest are: land governance, land reform, community landownership; inequality and social diversity; power and community development.

I have experience of conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis, including action research, spatial analysis, and interviews, focus groups, and workshops.
