My research interests are focused on how the environmental and socioeconomic outcomes of farming decisions can be quantified, compared, and improved in the context of sustainability transitions. Key interests include:

  • Silvopastoral agroforestry systems and the drivers of their adoption in tropical and temperate contexts
  • Voluntary carbon market mechanisms for leveraging widespread adoption of agroforestry and other regenerative agricultural techniques
  • Soil organic carbon dynamics and their treatment in farm-level carbon models
  • Methodological comparison of farm-level GHG calculators
  • Agricultural carbon accounting and emissions quantification across UK farming systems
  • Carbon credit integrity, additionality, and permanence risks in soil-based carbon projects
