I am a veterinary immunologist with experience working with a variety of animal species mostly focussing on infectious disease and host-pathogen interaction. My postdoctoral experience has focussed on design and assessment of novel vaccines for bacterial and protozoal disease in pigs and poultry. This has given me a broad range of experience in different techniques spanning microbiology, molecular biology, parasitology and immunology. My research interests are broadly focussed on understanding pathogenesis of immune mediated and infectious disease in companion and farm animals. I am particularly interested in understanding host variability in response to pathogens and how this information can be utilised to develop new treatment strategies and novel vaccines.
