Personal profile
Research interests
My interests focus on fungal plant pathogens, particularly their biology and control. I investigate the use of biological control agents and elicitors to control plant pathogens in horticultural and agricultural sectors.
Teaching
I deliver teaching for the following SRUC modules:
- Plant Protection: Integrated Approaches (Horticulture)
- Organic Production Systems
- Plant Biotic interactions
- New Perspectives in Plant Protection
Supervision
2021 - 2022 (BSc hons) 'The effects of Trichoderma spp. on wheat (Triticum aestivum ‘LG Motown’) growth promotion' University of Edinburgh.
2021 - 2022 (BSc hons) 'Investigation into the Effect of the Biological Controls Trichoderma harzianum (T22) and Bacillus subtilis on Phytophthora ramorum on Quercus ilex'. SRUC
2019 - 2020 (MSc project) ‘Investigating the biocontrol activity of Trichoderma spp. endophytes for the control of Armillaria mellea.’ University of Bristol.
Projects
2021 - present: Biological control of common barley diseases.
