Teaching
I am the Course Organiser for Ecological Economics Field Methods in Research and Practice (EEFMRP), a course for the MSc in Ecological Economics (University of Edinburgh/Scotland's Rural College). This is a team-based learning course that guides students through the process of working together in small and in larger project teams from proposal to implementation on the ground of a Ecological Economics research project in line with the needs of our community partners.
Biography
I am an ecologist and an ecological economist working on how do we work together to transform our economic systems so that they are better aligned with societal values and environmental health and regeneration.
I have worked in spiders as ecological indicators of soil pollution, watershed ecosystem services payments, food waste behaviour change, agroecology practices ecosystem service delivery, perceptions, attitudes and community design of future alternative regenerative economic systems.
I have worked with a variety of methods including linear programming, structural equation modelling, causal loop diagrams, agent based-modelling, systematic evidence synthesis, semi-structured interviews, Q-methodology, focus groups, workshops and serious games.
My current research is looking into what motivates us as individuals and as societies to enact directional change towards practices and systems that address issues such as biodiversity loss, climate change and social justice, using future visioning, backcasting, serious games and motivational interviewing.
