Research interests

I am interested in soil health, nutrient cycling (C, N, P) and innovative blue-green economy products for use in agriculture and forestry sectors. I have additional interests in soil management in golf systems, a practical land use to learn about soil C storage in highly managed to less managed systems. 

I teach postgraduate courses and am the deputy programme leader for MSc Soil and Sustainablilty, jointly through the University of Edinburgh and Scotland's Rural College. I contribute to soil science and related lectures for HND, HNC and undergraduate courses at SRUC.
