Personal profile

Research interests

My main research interest is in the collection, application and analysis of geospatial data. I have been involved with projects covering a diverse range of subjects including environmental degradation (invasive species mapping), agricultural disease detection (agricultural trials), and more recently land ownership mapping (land reform). These projects have all required the use of geographic information systems (a subject I also teach extensively in), with some also necessitating the use of unmanned aircraft systems (aka drones, for which I hold a GVC certificate) and remote sensing techniques (e.g. pixel/object-based classification).
