Quality driven, highly motivated countryside management, landscape and wildlife professional with a proven track record in team and project management, resource allocation, fiscal control and delivery within the SRUC Elmwood Campus.
With extensive teaching experience in the same sector over 14 years. Developing key relationships with external and internal stakeholders that have enabled opportunities for many students during studying and following graduation.
Possessing a ‘can and will do’ attitude developing an online teaching platform from scratch during Covid-19. Also, multiple student online activities that have stimulated and fostered enthusiasm and commitment to study during unprecedented times.
Focused on personal learning and skills development, undertaking an M.Sc in Countryside Management to gain further knowledge and qualifications within the sector showing the drive and enthusiasm to succeed.
Teaching
I started as a lecturer in Countryside Management in 2007 focusing on teaching and development of wildlife and conservation based modules.
In June 2019 I took responsibility as Programme Team Leader for Wildlife and Conservation Management for the department and its teaching staff, identifying its needs and working quietly, diligently and with professionalism. Identifying an urgent need to modernise its teaching moving towards creating an innovative blended learning approach fostering a modern culture and way of working. Re-established the HNC Wildlife and Conservation Management course back to Elmwood Campus creating an innovative teaching approach with industry partners.
