-Biorenewable Materials: Natural Fibres/Wood, Bio-resins and Utilisation of Waste
-Coatings: Smart, Self-healing, Superhydrophobic and Self Cleaning Nanocoatings for Automotive; Aerospace; Biomedical; Batteries & Devices for Energy; Food Safety and Textile
-Composites: Synthesis, processing, structural and functional properties, and theoretical studies (modelling and simulation) of Hybrid laminates, Bio-composites, Recycled composites, Self-reinforced composites, Functional composite materials (including nano-modified materials), Self-sensing laminates, Self-healing laminates, Joints of laminates and sandwiches.
-Design, Develop and Commercialize Bioproducts, Bioprocesses, and Bioenergy
-Hydrogels: Synthesis, characterisation and applications in nutrient recovery, control delivery, water purification and biomedical
-Membranes: Sustainable membrane materials for applications in water treatment, biomedical and energy storage
-Nanofibers: Synthesis and applications in biomaterials, energy, sensing and smart materials
-Nanoelectronic Materials: Piezoelectric, dielectric, thermoelectric and electrochromic materials for sensing, energy harvesting, and storage.
