Description
Novel slower growing breeds of broilers will be tested according to the RSPCA's Broiler Breeds Welfare Assessment Protocol - a requirement for any breeds that apply to be accepted into the RSPCA Assured higher welfare scheme. The birds are raised in similar conditions to commercial farms on this scheme and the welfare assessments are done when the average weight per bird for each breed is 2.2kg and 2.5kg
