Description
Antimicrobial resistance is found wherever antimicrobials are used, yet antimicrobials are often the last line of defence in protecting animal health and welfare. Understanding the relationship between antimicrobial use in livestock and resistance (number of resistance genes in bacteria excreted into the environment) will inform risk analyses of transfer to the wider environment and humans.
