Description

Scoping study of animal journeys from Northern Isles to Aberdeen including sea crossings. Modelling of existing data where available and experimental data collection of welfare outcomes on selected commercial journeys in autumn 2023 to cover a range of different weather and travelling conditions. The aim of the work is to provide objective scientific evidence relating to the welfare of sheep and cattle when transported in different conditions to inform policy decisions by Scottish Government.
