Abstract

This study examines the effects on milk and selected dairy products of increasing production costs following the recent Covid-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The study uses quarterly data for milk, butter, gouda cheese, and curd prices in Poland for the period 2004 to 2022. Energy and lubricant index and commercial animal feed cost indexes are for Poland and taken from Eurostat. Four double logarithmic price regressions are estimated for the dairy products. Results show that the increase of feed prices influenced significantly milk prices while processed dairy product prices were affected by the rise in energy and milk prices.
