Abstract

During the past few decades, the field of natural fiber-based green polymer composites has witnessed a remarkable growth for a number of applications. The interest in different kinds of natural fibrous materials and their respective polymer composites is increasing day by day due to the enormous properties offered by the hybrid of the natural cellulosic fibers and the polymers matrices both of natural/synthetic origin. The interest in using natural cellulosic fibers is growing rapidly because they are renewable, cheap, recyclable, and biodegradable. Keeping in mind the diverse advantages of the different kinds of natural cellulosic fibers, in this chapter, we report some of the preliminary studies on the surface modification of selected natural cellulosic fibers intended for low dielectric constant and structural composites applications.
