Abstract
The logic behind this project is to infer opportunities for Scottish industries by analysing the launching of products, which, reflect, at least partially, consumers’ preferences as well food firms’ expectations of what can be purchased. The following excerpt from The Grocer illustrates the point: “PepsiCo has added an Extra Flamin’ Hot variant to each of its Doritos, Walkers Max and Wotsits Crunchy ranges. The innovations responded to consumer demand for more varied spicy snacks, said PepsiCo”.
