Abstract
This report evaluates the quality and credibility of the NatureScot Commissioned review produced by Averis and Averis (2025) “A review of habitat classifications for their potential use in a Scottish Biodiversity Metric”. The report also provides comment on two draft NatureScot documents, (1) "Choosing a habitat classification approach for the Scottish biodiversity metric: Rationale for the proposed approach", and (2) "Choosing a terrestrial habitat classification system to provide data for the Scottish biodiversity metric - draft signalling for the NatureScot metric website".
