Abstract

The RSPCA/UFAW Rodent Welfare Group holds a oneday meeting every autumn. This has been for the last 32 years so members can discuss current welfare research, exchange views on welfare issues and share experiences of the implementation of the 3Rs for Replacement, Reduction and Refinement with respect to rodent use. This meeting was held at the University of Edinburgh in October 2025 and focussed on the use of technology in improving rodent welfare. This report summarises the meeting and ends with a list of action points for readers to consider raising at their own establishments.
